Gary Fairbairn


Director

Having graduated from Heriot Watt University with a degree in Structural Engineering in 1996, Gary worked for an Engineering consultancy in Edinburgh for 7 years. In 2003, Gary formed Blueprint to provide a one stop solution for clients providing Architectural and Engineering design services in one company. Extensive knowledge has been gained in design and detailing with various materials which include, masonry, steel, aluminium, concrete and timber. Gary is fully conversant with AutoCAD, CADS, TEDDS, Structural Designer and currently manages the IT based applications and hardware within current office environment. Gary’s ethos is to provide the client with innovative and cost effective design solutions whilst being considerate to the built environment.

Kern Gallagher


Associate Director

Kern is an Architectural Technologist and Structural Technician with over 16 years’ experience working for the company. Starting straight from school and learning the job through an apprenticeship which included four years at college on a day release scheme. Kerns experience has seen him carry out work on vast variety of different projects ranging from listed buildings, new build dwelling houses, extensions, loft conversions to larger scale work on non-domestic office buildings, industrial buildings and car garages. Working closely with our structural engineers has provided Kern further insight into the construction process, enabling thoughtful design theory to be implemented to aid the project from the early design concepts through to the final design.

Fiona Macdonald


Architectural Technologist

Fiona is an Architectural Technologist who has been with the company since 2018. After leaving school, Fiona attended Edinburgh University studying architectural design for two years before transitioning into architectural technology at Napier University where she left following a further three years with a degree in Architectural Technology. Fiona has a keen eye for design and enjoys putting the theory into practice on the projects she works on which include domestic and non-domestic buildings. Fiona is fully conversant with AutoCAD and Sketchup and enjoys the challenge of taking the clients brief and converting these into drawings suitable to obtain the relevant permission from the Local Authority.
